The BBB stunt will “only offset a little more than one-third of the package’s estimated $137 billion cut to federal Medicaid spending in rural areas”. Rural communities eat the other 2/3 slowing, not preventing, the death of their hospitals, while Orange Menace declares a win and moves on.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable.

We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Democrats must remember this — and act on it.

S&P500 index up 16%. With the plummet in the US$ value this year, internatl investors are only up 2.6%. When combined with the risk of permanent capital parked in the US being “one of the easiest things to weaponise” by the US govt, why would a foreign investor move or keep money here?
This piece is a great illustration of how the long-term effect of Trump’s destruction of US institutions won’t be felt in a dramatic market collapse, but rather in permanently worse economic conditions, and lower prosperity.

The DOJ Epstein files roll out has been a disaster thus far, and exemplifies what many survivors have been saying for years. There is one piece of news that not enough people are talking about, however, and that’s how these files vindicated Maria Farmer. She told the truth in 1996.

Truly! It's audacious to say, but it is tangible. There is a transition plan due to the OR Legislature in 2026. Health Care for All Oregon has been advocating for this change for decades.

Detention thus becomes not merely an enforcement tool but a stabilized commercial product.

Detention capacity is maintained to sustain the business rather than to serve legal necessity.

Warehousing persists not because it is efficient, but because it is financially entrenched.

Not ok. Not my USA.

A big fuck you to Trump.

The sleepy old pedo has to be losing his shit over this.

Trump will probably take it to the Supreme Court, who will rule that Trump has the power to fire and appoint regional Fed bank presidents.
