Rep. Bacon on Trump's aggression toward Greenland: "I feel like it's incumbent on folks like me to step up and say these threats and bullying of an ally are wrong. And on the weird chance he's serious about invading Greenland, I want to let him know it will probably be the end of his presidency."

I’m taking a victory lap for my coverage of young voters over the last year. I’ve argued that Trump’s 2024 gains with voters <30 stemmed mostly from anti-incumbent sentiment from high inflation — and that “GOP gains” / a youth “realignment” was a mirage. Tuesday’s results suggest I was right.
Seven data-driven lessons from the 2025 elections
Democrats outran their polls and swept statewide races from Georgia to New Jersey, on an agenda of affordability and a broad anti-Trump backlash

Hundreds more grant awards, worth more than $1 billion, appear delayed, and could be next on the chopping block. www.edweek.org/policy-polit...

U.S. senators from both parties on Thursday decisively rejected virtually all the Trump administration’s proposals to slash K-12 education investments.

Additionally, they pushed back against its efforts to shrink the U.S. Department of Education and move its functions to other agencies.

New: Ten Republican senators wrote to the Trump admin. today urging the restoration of $6.8 billion for education Trump impounded earlier this month.

Cutting federal education funding with no notice runs counter to "returning education to the states," senators say. www.edweek.org/policy-polit...

It’s a shame that so many Republicans vote for something they know will hurt their constituents & the country simply because they are afraid that Trump will threaten them if they don’t go along with it, & they are more concerned about his vindictiveness than they are about them.

Russ Vought is already illegally withholding hundreds of billions in federal funding from our communities.

Now, he's refusing to rule out cutting off even more funding with a new, illegal end run around Congress.

He's ignoring common sense & the plain text of the law.

The Trump Administration is breaking the law and has no inherent authority to unilaterally freeze appropriations – never has – and every day of Trump’s funding freeze is an unlawful attack on the resources Americans were promised and rely on.
