I’m absolutely inclined to agree, but it’s no good replacing him with anyone likeminded like Mahmoud or Streeting. It has to be soft left. Andy Burnham or Clive Lewis or imho Labour will need recover. Meanwhile many of us have moved on.

It’s hugely difficult. It was taught in schools under the ☂️ of General Studies.
The prob is that the Brexit vote has totally destroyed businesses, careers, jobs, lives, young ppl’s futures so tbh I think forgiveness is for the 🦅s. However, what you’ve said makes sense- but many can’t do it.

Well, I’m very surprised that he’s morphed from being ardently Remain to hard line not Rejoin, SM, CU etc.
When he was in opposition many thought his anti much closer ties/SM /CU etc was red meat for Leave/RW voters. Many convinced themselves that deep down he was pro EU. I no longer believe that.

Tbh - I’m really referring to ppl who vote for Brexit or Reform, or in some cases Tory.

No. Absolutely not. They were presented with a choice but the main objective was to get the Tories out. I obviously understand that; I also totally understand that they wanted to believe the best - this is the Labour Party after all.
And I will not forget that Labour inherited a shit show.

Exactly! Clueless. An emotional vacuum who only values power and money. How can that harness the imagination of anyone who isn’t greedy, a CEO or clueless? No one with transformative or altruistic aspirations for a country would vote for such a person.

English/the Arts are so powerful that even if you’re a politician who some have referred to as poisonous - like Gove- you still know how to sell your message.
Of course, bureaucrats and ppl without EQ don’t understand the power of these subjects.
(The Arts = that earn the U.K. millions)

It’s no coincidence that the most powerful, emotionally charged communicators are those politicians who’ve done English, History or Drama . They know the importance of connecting with people, making a powerful speech and speaking from the heart.

That aside, I wish someone would keep hammering them on the philistinism and hatred of their own country’s culture. Saying British kids shouldn’t study English because it won’t make them money echoes Tice and Candy’s contempt for anything that isn’t their Magic Kingdom Canary Wharf in the emirates.

Tory/Reform have a lot of older voters, that combined with new voters entering the voting pool and 16 year olds added… I think it will make more of a difference than is being advertised.
