Thank you, @ryanfagan.bsky.social! I love the hat and I especially love that one of these packs has a price tag of $.40 from Venture on it. I remember feeling like a big deal getting clothes from there when I was 8 years old.

I love listening to Denny call Royals radio games so much.
“High fly ball to center. The Royals are going to win the game whether he catches it or not. He doesn’t.”

Thinking about something... Polarization and black & white thinking / Multifactorial reasoning and nuance. How can we embrace critical thinking?

This behind-the-scenes look from 18F's @matthenry.fyi gets at the heart of our approach to improving government services: you've got to talk to—and learn from—the people who use them.
I wrote about my favorite project that I worked on at @alt18f.bsky.social (minus the "alt"). It's about prototyping, learning from users, and the power of great product owners. It's also about what's missing, now that 18F isn't out there doing this anymore. matthenry.fyi/posts/the-be...

I got to translate Spanish for a guy who was trying to order a pepperoni pizza and 3 drinks at Chuck E Cheese. Thanks, 8-day Duolingo streak!

One time in my church men's group someone said our wives were too empathetic, which gave us a bad example. This was a church with Jesus in the name. It may not be a path to riches, but empathy unites people. It is not a bug. Finally, Elon thinks robots have *too much* empathy? 🤯
“The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy.” - Elon Musk

I don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Why is it that our brains can recall things from many years ago better than things from just last week? Never has this felt more evident to me than yesterday, when we started putting together some old photos for our oldest daughter's senior tribute for the high school yearbook.

Every time I go on LinkedIn I keep seeing posts in strange business-speak language. Why can't we talk like people anymore?

We are running out of days to watch the rest of our favorite Christmas movies. We made everyone vote tonight and thankfully one movie got two votes!

I'm halfway through this holiday draft where these goofballs are drafting holiday cheer and nobody has picked the Podcast Holiday Draft yet. By all my metrics it should've been a first-rounder.

“I have too many books”
-judgemental
-boring
-implies impulse-control issues

“The books... they have me.”
- mysterious
- occult
- implies you are at the mercy of a library of books that have gained sentience and are holding you hostage

My wife and I watched Pop Culture Jeopardy! last night and it was really fun but I think without being on TikTok or listening to new music we wouldn't have a chance on there. Am I getting old? Surely not.

No snow yet, so of course we will take the request to grill despite sunset being at 4pm. The birthday banzai burgers were delicious.

Joel, the Lump of Coal is legitimately one of my favorite Christmas songs because of its message. I love that misunderstood lump.

The best reaction after "you haven't experienced that yet?!?" isn't that you're late to the party, but to welcome you in! Check out this awesome place!
You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
