Caught the Arkestra at a UU Church in Portland Maine this summer. The temperature inside was HOT and the music was HOTTER. Absolutely transcendent. It was billed as a celebration for Marshall Allen’s 100th, but unfortunately he was unable to make the trip. Happy to hear he was here.

For me, Arthur Magazine’s “Uncle Skullfucker’s Band” and the follow-up “How to Get Into The Grateful Dead” really felt like permission to not only like but love the Dead at a young and impressionable age. Drawing the overt connections to the heavy, dark, punk, psych and underground.
