As always, I'm thankful for her in general. She's a great teacher, but she's also a great mom to our kids, who are turning out to be kind, thoughtful young adults, and she's put up with me for more than 30 years now. She also is one of the best pie makers I know, which is what she's doing today!

I'd be fine with that. PACs have played a huge part in our local city politics, though we finally threw out PAC-backed incumbents earlier this month.
I'm also a fan of the limited campaigning periods they have in the U.K. and other nations, though the 1st Amendment probably makes that unworkable.
