I'm not sure what Meteorology programs are like at other schools, but this lesson would be very useful for MET-310 (Computer Applications in Meteorology) at SUNY Oswego (my alma mater). Good application of math, computer science and meteorology.

Given that I love to teach, here is a lesson on re-gridding GRIB data with both the fundamentals and how to implement these fundamentals in Python using numpy and xarray. This isn't always needed, but when a 2D array shows up as a 1D array it is necessary in order to plot the data. #MetEd #Python

Being able to query at this level saves lots of time for the user. If the user wanted to download and process all 30 GEFS members for the entire dataset from -180 to 180/-90 to 90, the entire process takes about 4 hours. #efficiency

Played around with different potential systems for WxData and I like this one. I like being able to use the GRIB filter to select bounding box and variables. Yesterday it took me only ~40 minutes to download and process all 30 GEFS members when selecting 2 variables for CONUS. #python #datascience

The goal of Social Security is to mitigate economic risk, particularly the risk of poverty when someone loses their ability to receive market-based income through employment. All people age, and no one can foresee with absolute certainty when death or disability may occur. Because these events are inevitable, yet the timing is unpredictable, it makes sense to protect against them.

I wonder what all those feeble-minded people who said "Trump won't actually implement Project 2025" during the 2024 election season have to say now? Trump is president and Project 2025 is here. Those who called us "fearmongers" are now reaping what they sowed from their own stupidity and ignorance.

The Democrats need to drop the current platform of the 2010s-2020s and return to the Roosevelt/Wallace platform of the 1940s if they want to win. Bring back the awesome New Deal economic policies of Roosevelt rather than focusing on social issues. Fiscal Progressive/Social Libertarian is the way.

DOE just said it is canceling 321 awards for 223 projects at ~ $8 billion, corresponding to the cancelled money for Dem states that Trump admin announced earlier today

They managed to cut hundreds of projects for Dem states w/out cutting any for GOP.
