Appellate attorney at Kynes Markman Felman. Member of ABA Litigation Journal Board. “Reserving judgments is a matter of infinite hope.” F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Saw The Outsiders tonight and the staging and choreography was so impressive. Story still hits too - I was so enthralled when I read it as a young teen.

Did not manage to get a tree up this year, so I am grateful for my neighbors who did so I can enjoy their lights, and that little slice of peace Christmas morn before everyone jumps out of bed.

People wanting noncritical work and answers the week before a major holiday need to let go of their inner grinch.

My holiday decorations are organized in 3 stages so when December gets difficult I can stop at stage 1 (tree) and skip 2 (outside lights) and 3 (village). Just bought three window candles and not sure we will make stage 1 this year. Bah humbug.

Florida appellate court orders are issued to parties and not otherwise easily available. That’s fine for a majority that have to deal with administrative tasks. But it makes it difficult to understand how the courts treat substantive motions (I.e., stays, attorneys’ fees, etc.).

Dog and cat content clearly get the most engagement. 😂 I get it though - much more fun to scroll through.

Our poor doggo needed back surgery but came through it like a trooper. So relieved to see her handle it well and already showing some improvement.

Leafing through a Sharper Image catalogue is a window into how insane the self care market has become.

Daughter brought her 4-months new car to get a tire replaced. They call 8 hours later to say the car won’t start at all and they have no idea why-but they will only charge her $50 to try to figure out why. The level of grift and incompetence in basic car repair is baffling.

I wasn’t a fan of the book that inspired Wicked because I thought the plot lacking. When the musical came out I could overlook the holes in the story line because everything else was amazing. The movie fills more of the holes, and Erivo and Grande outshine everything. Not to mention the cinematics.

Simultaneously a really nice portrait, time capsule, and economic manifesto. Mr. Grimes' accent is similar to ones I grew up around as a young boy in Jericho Vermont in the late 1970s. (Probably 5 dairy farms on our dirt road alone, back then; all gone now.)

Baking therapy this weekend. Though I must admit baking sweets may not be the best hobby for two empty nesters in a condo!

End of an era with Misty Copeland. Hard to believe it’s been 25 years. 19thnews.org/2025/10/mist...
Misty Copeland redefined what a ballerina looks like. What happens after she leaves?
After 25 years, the American Ballet Theatre’s first Black principal ballerina performs her last show on October 22.

Warren: The only movement these Republicans can manage is bowing down to Trump. When you ask them about today, they claim the No Kings Rally is anti-American. They’re wrong. Hundreds of thousands of people protesting peacefully for what they believe in—that is deeply American. That is patriotism.

Just saw a heartbreaking piece on typhoon damage in Alaska on PBS which included an interview of a KYUK reporter doing such important work but under its own budget crises. Give if you can!

The stores hosting these “atm” machines and Bitcoin Depot stand by and profit while elderly and insecure people feed thousands into the machines for scams. Disgusting.
