1/4 At ICE’s Krome Detention Camp in Florida, Cuban immigrants formed a human "SOS" on the patio—desperate to alert the world. The facility is nearly 200% over capacity. Built for 600, it now holds 1,700. People sleep on floors, eat only a cup of rice a day, and go without medical care.

Alongside @404media.co, we sued DHS demanding they hand over a copy of an agreement that shares the personal data of nearly 80 million Medicaid patients with ICE.

We believe it’s important for the public to see this unprecedented data sharing agreement.

State-run extrajudicial immigration black sites like Alligator Alcatraz allows politically connected individuals to make hundreds of millions of dollars off Florida’s taxpayers at the expense of jailed migrants, while those held are stripped of their access to legal counsel and due process.
DHS Plans More State-Run Extrajudicial Black Sites Like “Alligator Alcatraz”
Homeland Security’s Kristi Noem mentioned plans to build similar immigration jails in Arizona, Nebraska, and Louisiana.

Latest: Friends of the Everglades passed along this picture of freshly laid blacktop at the "Alligator Alcatraz" detention camp, taken by pilot Ralph Arwood on September 26.

I was there a week or so prior, and there were construction trucks pouring out of it.

These widespread show me your paper operations are done by state police agencies like the Florida Highway Patrol. Even public university police departments have signed police-ICE collaboration agreements in Florida, the only state in the country where that’s happening.

Wrote about how Florida’s rush to open new detention centers is not just about an immigration crackdown. It’s also about disbursing hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars with no competitive processes . Over $350 million in no-bid contracts for Alligator Alcatraz alone so far.
Waste, fraud, abuse and Florida’s immigration prisons | Opinion
Because of a two-and-a-half-year-old emergency declaration, vendors at proliferating Florida immigration jails are enriched through no-bid contracts, a process wide open for waste and abuse.

I think it's a sign of how cowed the American media is that we're getting pieces like "you have to understand, in Korean culture, it's considered very rude for someone to lock you in a brutal prison camp for a week for no reason." Like yeah, any free people would be offended by that?

After Charlie Kirk’s murder, the cancel culture machine has kicked into gear, with mob mentality driving firings, investigations, and political pressure.

Cancel culture ends when we decide that people can be horrifically wrong and still entitled to the grace that enables us all to grow from our worst moments.
