Fourteen schools in Bristol voted on how to spend £5m.

The options were:

1) Spread cash based on the number of pupils each school has.

2) Maximise money for disadvantaged children.

The only three schools to vote against option two were faith schools.

Have no idea why the @financialtimes.com stooped to publish this bullshit*t from an enemy of truth and democracy. Extremely disappointing and concerning. Must everyone capitulate to the tech bros? Really? Thought the FT was better than this.
The new administration’s revelations need not justify vengeance — reconstruction can go hand in hand with reconciliation. But for reconciliation to take place, there must first be truth, writes technology entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel www.ft.com/content/a46c...

Arendt could flawlessly see through dictators.

"The moment we no longer have a free press, anything can happen. What makes it possible for a totalitarian or any other dictatorship to rule is that people are not informed; how can you have an opinion if you are not informed?"

Thames Water fined £18.2m for 'unjustified' £131.3m dividend to shareholders.

At the same time OFWAT allows Thames to hike customer bills by 35%.

Capital raised from customers who will own nothing, shareholders will get returns.

Privatisation is a scam.

Thames Water fined £18m over dividends but granted 35% bills hike by 2030
The ruling falls well short of a 59% bills hike requested by the troubled water company, as it tries to secure a bailout from investors.

Private equity is a horror story for the NHS – one fifth of budget goes to it.

Privatised services treat 10% of patients, 3% in 2011.

59,000 private contracts in the NHS.

30%-40% of money vanishes in profits, longer queues persist.

End privatisation.

so on the #farmersprotest it turns out that:

-the vast majority of farms are unaffected

-the few that are, can avoid IHT with 7 year rule

-the real villains are Clarkson & Dyson who invest in farmland to dodge taxes

-…and Farage because of Brexit

So that’s that then
