Working on games and graphics
Man there is something about lightmap debug views.
I love their cozy claylike look.
Almost a shame to combine lightmaps with the other textures.

Added lods to the gpu driven renderer.
Currently the lods are per object, hoping to experiment with cluster based lods in the future.

But first I want to improve shading quality, do another performance pass and some much needed code cleanup.

Meshoptimizer is so easy to use <3
I can now easily generate lods from code.
Hoping to find some time this weekend to plug this into the gpu driven renderer.

Well this is finally starting to look like something :)

Had some time to work on the gpu driven renderer.
I now have some basic texture support with texture arrays.

This per meshlet culling kinda crazy tho
November 30, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Added cone culling to the meshlets so any meshlets facing away from the camera do not get processed anymore.

This was a 15fps improvement on Quest3.
(still only runs at 45fps but it's a good improvement from 30fps 😅)

We've got nanite at home.
Made some good progress on my gpu driven renderer in unity.

I'm now rendering the entire viking village demo scene in 1 draw.

Got some form of gpu culling working.
Unfortunatly everything is now slower then just rendering all meshes🤦‍♂️.
But hey I learned a lot about compute shaders and I'm confident I can speed up a ton now.

After an entire day of trying to get unity to use multidrawindirect and getting nowhere.

Atleast I got meshoptimizer working and now have more sensible meshlets.
November 24, 2025 at 9:33 PM
I might accidentally have reinvented cluster based rendering.

10 minutes into the Oblivion remake and I'm already dizzy from the character creator. This camera movement can not be normal right?

Played R.E.P.O and got inspired to make a vr physics sandbox over the weekend.
The goal was to keep the character controller responsive while still being affected by physics forces.

Also added R.E.P.O style object pickups / door interactions.

Finally tried to install linux on my old laptop.

I only use this laptop to watch youtube so I'm looking for something really light weight.
Windows 10 made the fans spin loudly when doing telementry, updates, virus scans ...
