Quality of life, strong support structures, healthy people and economies should always be of concern. But the solution to these problems is not to ramp up the people funnel to keep the massively scaled, workforce-dependant, growth obsessed systems populated. That's a self perpetuating cycle.

In 1900, there were only 1 billion people on the planet. Imagine what the quality of life could have been for those 1B lifetimes if they'd had access to the technology and systems we have invented since then
A less populated earth should be of no concern to someone within their own lifetime..
