You might not think you're in the 1%, but "the richest 1% – about 77 million people, including all those earning more than $140,000 (£114,000) a year – are responsible for more than twice as much carbon pollution each year as the poorest half of humanity."
World’s richest use up their fair share of 2025 carbon budget in 10 days
Emissions caused by wealthiest 1% so far this year would take someone from poorest 50% three years to create

If you've got kids you owe it to them to walk places instead of driving, if possible.

I don't care if it's going to take three times as long. The types of interactions I have with my kids in a car vs walking are vastly different.

Often we enjoy the conversations more than the destination.

Tomorrow we'll hear more on the government's vision for the new integrated national transport strategy

Delivering this was a central ask of @ippr.bsky.social (and many many others) and welcome to see it being prioritised

Quick thoughts in progress on 7 things this strategy should do 🧵
Nicholas Hellen in the Sunday Times exploring why the Transport Secretary is looking to Dijon, France for inspiration. It’s not just about trams - it’s an example of a joined up transport system. An announcement on the new Integrated National Transport Strategy is due on Thurs. Looking forward to it

In recognition of us doing fuck all to reduce emissions, let me remind y'all that carbon dioxide removal (CDR) is useless unless we decarbonize drastically.

Carbon dioxide removal is not a current climate solution — we need to change the narrative
Drastically reduce emissions first, or carbon dioxide removal will be next to useless.
