(the Irish Defence Forces had jet-fighters -albeit quite antiquated - up until after the GFA was signed, had tanks up until 2017)

I doubt any unionists would care if the Republic had just kept spending 1% of GDP on defence. At one point the Irish Defence Forces had tanks, corvettes, and jet-fighters, and I do not recall any particular mention of this from unionists.

The Pentagon even asked that the script for the film be re-written because of their strong objections to the very idea of them being involved in military strikes on Colombian territory... imagine...

The headline, the main takeaway from a European viewpoint is this:

The transatlantic relationship as we know it is over. Yes, we kinda knew this. But this is now official US White House policy. Not a sppech, not a statement. The West as it used to be no longer exists.

"I'm not demonising but we have One True Enemy And It's Not Russia *wink*"

Which means knowing the downside to this:
- Demonising the countries that help defend Ireland is an approach that can backfire.
- Those countries will never prioritise the defence of Ireland above their own defence.
- We're in a period where all-out-war in Europe, including Ireland, is possible.

Also the bombing raids in WW2.

But yeah, the country that is the biggest threat to Ireland is the one that literally defends Ireland now, and for that reason Ireland should continue to spend nothing on defence nor engage in any alliances. This is very logical.

All of this just because that blond haired buffoon decided to go with the wrong essay, advocating something he didn’t think would happen, just so he could get a job that he didn’t even like.

The thinking seems to be that it's possible just to dial immigration up and down as needed. I think that's bollocks

Deciding to go to the UK starts with a conception of what the UK is. Generally, in China and other countries I've lived in, it is not seen as an unfriendly place. But that can change

There’s a mentality where people see everything they already have as somehow “in the bank” or even just how things naturally are, and do not understand that they require a continual effort from millions of people to maintain.

Also: $59.95 in 1992 US dollars is $138.79 today.

Rather puts complaints about modern game costs into perspective.

1) What the actual fuck how did this just get normalised in the space of three years…. Oh yeah everyone just hanging out on Twitter like boiling frogs

2) not broadcast, as they aren’t quite ready to push Ofcom on this. This is the “good stuff” for unregulated YouTube.
