Page 1 for the as-yet-unfinished "Thirteen At Table" adaptation for Jectoons.

In front of a spacious fireplace of the old kind, when the logs were well alight, and men with pipes and glasses were gathered before it in great easeful chairs, and the wild weather outside and the comfort that was within, and the season of the year--for it was Christmas--and the hour of the night, all called for the weird or uncanny, then out spoke the ex-master of foxhounds and told this tale.

And I, I once had an odd experience too.

It was when I had the Bromley and Sydenham, the year I gave them up--as a matter of fact it was the last day of the season. It was early April and we had drawn
blank all day, and at the last draw of all,

--the very last of the season,

we found a fox.

We settled down into a steady gallop--left the clay lands where the bracken grows and came to a valley at the edge of the chalk--

The moon sits behind her head, and the stars sparkle both in the sky above and in her hair and the lights of her eyes. To the left of the painting is the preliminary sketch for the piece, showing the layout of the leaves, face, and hair (and a selection of paints to place into the base layer) that form the artist's original concept for the piece.

In the second panel an adult with a knife behind their back looks at Daniel from behind. The narration continues 'Buth this was the first time he's opened the fridge in the middle of the night... I had grabbed a knife thinking it may be an intruder. Not the best look, sneaking up on a kid.' In the third panel the adult kneels next to Daniel and talks to him. 'Daniel, why are you up so late?', he says. Daniel replies 'Mrs. Whisper is hungry'.
