That is the entire story. As for rejoining, there are many RR networks and they overlap. Some are quite friendly towards press. I have been working with them, including in my original neighborhood geography, and it has been productive and enjoyable.

Unfortunately at a later date the organizers, who are unknown to me, made an unannounced rule change, instituting a complete ban on interactions with press. As a press member yourself, I think you might be a little concerned with this kind of mentality, but who knows. I was removed without warning.

Personally I believe we should consider all relevant historical precedents concerning tyrannical and lawless executives and pick the Strong Option, whatever that may be

Personally I believe that when your leaders flagrantly defy the Constitution and law Strong Accountability Through Due Process is needed to ensure that they stop and a message is sent to future leaders to not consider the same path

Also, as I've said, new ways of enforcement don't mean a damn thing if you don't know what you're enforcing. The first step is to bring the defenders of the status quo into the open. That's being done. The next is to chip away while you develop a new platform.

And conversely, if you can’t get the public to stop talking about inflation, it doesn’t really matter if you cut it to reasonable levels: everyone will continue to believe prices are climbing rapidly year over year. This is precisely what we’re seeing right now.

But the implication of that is that if the public is furious about inflation, the solution is NOT to reduce inflation to manageable levels (which it has been for the past three years, roughly). It’s to try to get everyone to stop talking about it so much.

I think the obvious reason for this is that people DON’T actually have an intuitive sense of inflation - because it’s incredibly difficult to figure out the difference between low and moderate amounts by checking your own spending. So instead their perceptions reflect popular public narratives.

one thing the trump era has made clear, i think, is that the american people themselves are far more committed to the values of our founding documents than our elites
