Not a great start to the season that the GM and HC were both asked pretty basic questions and neither of them were capable of providing a satisfactory answer.

it would have been an interesting to thing to try out under a new coach but they cant do that now because they traded their only other legit top6 c away for a 4th liner so here we are
Agreed for the last bit. I really liked McTavish on the wing with Leo last season. I would have given it more time.

for me, its not even a "he doesnt work with leo" thing because as far as im concerned the last two years for all these guys should just be thrown out the window and ignored moving forward.
my reason for wanting him with mctavish is i dont want mctavish being the primary puck carrier on his line.

I don't love yours or mine neither lol. We really do miss a proper winger to play with Cutter and Leo. Hope is that Sennecke gonna be it someday.
However I don't see Strome being the guy. Naturally you'd want Terry there, but for whatever reason he doesn't work with Leo.

Gauthier - Carlsson - Strome
Kreider - McTavish - Terry
Vatrano - Granlund - Killorn
and i dont love that setup at all tbh lol.

If Sennecke is ready enough I don't see them playing him higher than 3rd line. Also Kreider's real form is a mystery. Hard to predict anything

beyond that, you're just power ranking 3rd liners based on personal preference. and adding an extra third liner to a team in dire need of elite talent is not a decision i feel particularly compelled to applaud. especially not in favor of the most expensive one.
Granlund playmaking is superior to all three. Also all three played higher in the lineup than they should, just like Granlund, but none of them actually produced at his level. He’s not a star or a difference maker, but he’s a good player and Ducks should be better with him than without.

He's a bad defensive player so he is not better than Killorn. that might feel fairly reductive but that is a line in the sand. He is not a goal scorer, so he is not a more useful player than Vatrano for this roster. Him and Strome being a wash is not an argument in his favor.
