They're fun to write but not fun to reread
[reading my diary] The pacing on this thing is awful. Characters are introduced that aren't necessary for the plot. Entire plotlines are introduced and then promptly forgotten. Requires deep knowledge of previous volumes.This whole thing is a mess and needs a complete rewrite.

Thank goodness. I suspect this is a Canvas online "short essay." Those got really popular when all campuses were remote because they're easy (to make) assignments to accompany each lecture. It doesn't excuse the writing or the content.
