Okay, so this is going to sound inflammatory, but I promise it isn't.

One of the reasons I appreciate Beth's review of this book is because she talks about race and the Third World unflinchingly.

Which you'd think I, as a brown tranny who harps on epistemic authority constantly, wouldn't endorse.
Introducing Transwrecks, a review series for books that suck enough to merit their own category.

I loathed this book, but its overall warm reception by the community up to this point seems to strike at a deeper issue about anti-intellectualism and the role of truth in feminist critique ⬇️🫤
