This isn't about bringing jobs back to the US. The current unemmployment rate is 4.2%. We are actively discouraging immigration. We simply don't have the people to do those jobs sewing clothing, assembling electronics, etc. What is this actually about?

Mark Kelly: "This is not surprising. Here's a guy who told Americans to inject bleach into their bodies, who sent a mob to Capitol Hill. And now I think it's fair to say he stands out as singlehandedly destroying more wealth with his bad decisions than anybody else who has ever lived on this planet"

A really powerful WWII era "don't be a sucker" piece, that explains how authoritarians have to separate and destroy groups of people so they can take power. I don't usually watch anything this long (22 min) but couldn't stop watching once I started this.
Please watch and rewatch this movie, in the U.S. Archives from the @usarmy.bsky.social #DontBeASucker a reminder of how the Nazis conned their country into becoming the cause of mass murder and all the other horrors that Nazis unleash. Lots of hand wringing and "concern" from Democatic "leaders" and folks on Bluesky. The best way to fix this problem is to get Rebublicans to turn away from Trump but that needs to happen soon. If you are in a red state or red district, make sure your congress people know how you feel.

Remember when Trump denied that Project 2025 was on his agenda? I remember people saying those terrible ideas will never be enacted and they don't really mean it. Well, here is a tracker with all the Project 2025 items and their percent completion with references to back it up.

I wonder how RFK Jr will deal with this? BTW - I doubt it was the biggest outbreak in history. Last 75 years? Probably.
Kansas tuberculosis outbreak is now America's largest in recorded history
Kansas public health officials say the state's ongoing tuberculosis outbreak is the largest since the CDC started reporting TB cases in the 1950s.

The White House late Friday fired the independent inspectors general of at least 12 major federal agencies in a purge that could clear the way for President Donald Trump to install loyalists in the crucial role of identifying fraud, waste and abuse in the government.
Trump ousts at least 12 independent inspectors general in late-night purge
The dismissals appeared to violate federal law, which requires Congress to receive 30 days’ notice of any intent to fire a Senate-confirmed inspector general.

70% of the world’s population has universal healthcare, but not the US

We are the only highly developed nation without it

Our healthcare is twice as expensive as the average wealthy nation

US ranks last among industrial nations for deaths that could be prevented with timely access to healthcare

Tariffs are a tax. Sales tax is a tax, yet it is not reflected on the posted price. It is a separate line item on the receipt.
Proposal to retailers: post the price with and without tariffs. At the very least, show it as a line item on the receipt like sales tax. Tariffs won't last long.

With the turmoil in liberal media now, maybe it is time shift the way we curate the news. We have way too much about Nancy Mace and bathrooms and too little on the impact of stopping vaccine research or the impact of the inevitable retaliatory tariffs on farmers or Caterpillar.

I've read enough spy history novels to know people are recruited because they are easily manipulated (praise, how they were mistreated), can be bought for a price, can be blackmailed (kompromat), or are true believers. A new Trump administration will have all of these. time.com/4632111/komp...
