The Navy's first apology will be for a winter 1869 attack when the USS Saginaw totally destroyed three village sites and two forts in the area of Kake. Sailors then burned the villages and destroyed food and canoes, leading to “many deaths.”

there's a bunch of cemeteries across the US with the same name as the one where I work, so like 3 times a month I get to have a stressful conversation with somebody getting progressively angrier that I can't find their grandpa until I finally ask them straight out which cemetery they meant to call
