I'm never going to be okay with the idea that I'm supposed to sit politely while people talk about using ChatGPT to do their research! I actually do this science stuff because I enjoy it, and I think if you hate writing your own papers or parsing your own data THAT much you should do something else!

I can't believe how much this resonates with me.
Yes, I'm happy when I see another hit or another kudo or another like, but the most joy I've ever got out of writing are the days when I write a thousand words, then another thousand, a whole chapter or even two. I guess that's flow.

I can access flow states with reading and gaming and other activities, but it's not the same. accessing flow states is not the same thing as channeling one. and while I attempted it here in this thread I don't think there are words to describe how meaningful it is to find your source for that.

im wondering, is it a consequence of introversy that I rarely ever go into conversations without expecting something in return?
even when its "good night" i often do it with the passive want that they respond
