3.5 x more than hospital out-patients

5million more appts each month than 2019

Wes Streeting has decided he doesn’t need GPs

As a GP, I am not allowed to receive a pen or post-it note pad from a pharmaceutical company rep

Govt banned them in case I was influenced to prescribe medications

This should also be banned

Helpful to explain what £169/patient/year pays for (this is £40 less than 2015 in real terms funding & only £123 is patient care)

380million appts in GP practices - half with GPs

But there is more to General Practice than just appts

Dear parents - Yes you can give your sick child paracetamol if they’re >3 months old. It’s an excellent painkiller. It brings down a high temperature. It’s one of the safest drugs available. You are right to want to soothe your child’s distress. Evidence supports your good parenting. Be confident.

In the 1930s Mosley and his rank and file BUF were careful not to outwardly portray themselves as racists.

They weren't antisemitic... far from it... they were just concerned about "bad principles" and "international bankers" and the influx of foreigners

Everyone knew what they meant.

At Scale, Polyclinics, Darzi Centres, Hubs, Neighbourhood Centres - whatever you call them - what’s the cost-benefit?

Will they cost more than funding existing services?

Hub appts averge cost £48
Urgent Treatment Centres £85
Pharmacy First £48

GPs £23 per appt ~ £165/pt/year provide 7 apts on ave
These are quotes are from 2007/8 when (the now) Lord Darzi persuaded Gordon Brown, polyclinics and neighbourhood care was a good thing.

By 2011 they’d all disappeared

Wes Streeting is having a go at resurrecting them

Ignoring over 6000 GP practices
