Welcomed - what's old is new again. Abrahamic people eschew material things.
Americans used to call it being thrifty. Then it was Voluntary Simplicity. Today, Generation Z is exploring eschewing materialism as “underconsumption core,” with an eye for more meaningful holidays and less stuff. Christmas #holidays
Want a less commercial holiday? Gen Z tries ‘underconsumption core.’

Peculiar but awesome?
The reason for the yesterday's visit to Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE, was to see a recently opened extremely peculiar place, the "Abrahamic Family House". This is a compound housing a mosque, a Christian church and a synagogue with a guest center and a small museum.

Amazing in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
In the rather glorious "Abrahamic Family House"—a complex containing a church, synagogue and mosque. It is easy to be cynical about this but the buildings are lovely and are one step in the right direction.

6 billion of the world's 8 billion people are religious:
- 2 billion each Christianity & Islam
- 1 billion each Hinduism & Chinese religions of Buddism-Taoism-Confucius.
- 150 million between Shinto, Sikh, and Judaism

So half the world has faith in the 3 Abrahamic religions

Think Global Act Local
“When we first think of Advent, many of our minds go to anticipation,” writes Steve Cuss.

“But Advent provides something else: a reminder on bleak, overwhelming days that the gospel is local.”

Don't be shy to discuss religion and find comforting commonality.
Stuck in a big room full of people you don’t know? Find out who your co-religionists are by seeing who shouts “Mazel Tov!” when someone mistakenly drops and breaks a glass.
