I definitely saw that happening when people kept going after JDV and then he targted a Haitian community in Ohio.
Also, a lot of the ridicule ends up being ableist, transphobic, and homophobic. So that is not a stance of solidarity.

Hey for all of you who believe ridicule is an actual strategy against tyrants, you really got to understand that don't work for all of us.
What's worse, you getting off a good joke on a cop, demagogue or some other thin-skinned, tin pot dictator could mean the next marginalized person gets it bad.

There's an important point here.
If you're white and embarrass a cop, he's gonna hit the next Black person harder.
Make sure you protect the Black person too, and put your body between them.
