I like thinking about the people in that picture—a million, maybe, or many more during the day, esp if you count Jersey. We’re all equal and at least a little bound to each other. Any two of the 20 million people in the metro region could meet up in Manhattan in an hour or two.

Avenues stretch towards the Hudson, and on the far right the cluster of buildings that make up Hudson yards glow suffused with the orange of the sunset. Even Hudson yards can be made beautiful, especially at a distance.
