Like there’s a ton of individual issues but the broader problem is that there’s an assault on giving a shit about anyone besides yourself, nihilism that tells people the only way to prevent getting hurt is to hurt enough other people and that sickness is filtering into the bones of everything.

We keep trying to solve systemic issues with individual blame, and it just doesn’t work.

Children are humans in our communities. They take up space. It is what it is.

People can’t afford childcare the way previous generations could. Babysitting culture is pretty much gone. Everyone is burnt out, overstimulated, and stretched thin…and that’s exactly why folks end up bringing their kids into places that were never meant for kids in the first place.

What grounds me in my community work aside from parenthood:

How we respond to the most dependent members of our society reveals how we think about community, care, accessibility, and humanity. This is what I mean when I say intolerance of children works to your own detriment.

What happens if they're acting in bad faith. What if they don't deliver. What if they think Clause X means A, and you think it means B.

"How do we avoid a future kablooey" is the point of the lawyer.
