I'd say Stellaris or Gal Civ III, but you may want something more like Out There. Is it exploration, research, diplomacy, or something else you wanted?

In the Australian remake, they're very tough.

Yes, they're robust Hobart reboot robots.

(For some reason, Bumblebee can't say that fast.)

You are wise, Ned-sama. For what it’s worth, I also just finished Graham Greene’s Travels With My Aunt which is a romp in comparison to Murakami…

It just… doesn’t go anywhere. And it goes nowhere… slowly.

Gaiman has lots and lots happening! But the protagonist never drives it. But Murakami is much more everyday, where Gaiman is often comic book acceleration.

That’s true. I do enjoy it, when it works. But all that meandering needs to end in a place…

I think that’s true of so many of his books and of much magic realism. Books where events happen to people, not where they drive their lives. Neil Gaiman! Idk

And the worst thing about this? He’s one of my favourite authors, when he’s good. When he wants to go somewhere - like Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World or Killing Commendatore - that blandness and that strange otherworld mix neatly to pull you in. But when it doesn’t go anywhere…

It's a bland fantasy for mild rice pudding minds that can't take too much of anything but very much enjoy pastel wallpaper.

I almost didn't finish this so many times. I read three books in-between, watched an entire TV series, played many games to get away from it. And now I'm FREE. FREE. ahahaha.

For a long time, I enjoyed that vagueness, stumbling through worlds alongside motiveless protagonists ever chasing a disappearing love, but not too fast, because they need to cook and walk and repeat the same conversations over and over before they're allowed to possibly progress the world.

The Labour government got a huge majority and could have done any number of things to actually improve the lives of regular people in this country, and they chose brainwormed culturewar policies that have done nothing but make this country worse. I am unfathomably angry

Let’s keep this realistic! Blimey.

Though speaking of Chaos Warriors being neat, this lore titbit is delightful:

Titanium Court is also absolutely fantastic. Very good shortlist we came up with there. 💅

Hahaha. Again, I love this. But then I spent 15 years writing 5-10 word funny captions for images in magazines…
