Absolutely superb modern SF. (This is the version that was rewritten for physical publication, FWIW, stripping out the SCP elements.)
After struggling through 1Q84, I've realised that Murakami's books are all feels, stretched paper--thin between possible plot points. I say 'possible', because the plots rarely go anywhere or provide satisfying conclusions or anything approaching an explanation.

Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

Night. Running across Oxford Quad (for post-pub kebab). Forgot they’d installed tiny decorative wire fences recently. Saw last minute, tried to hurdle, failed & went headfirst into the stone arch beyond. Blood everywhere. Ex-army Porters said ‘flesh wound’. Woke up head stuck to pillow, broken arm.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

One of the things that I really hate about AI art is the mistrust. The video game Zephon is really well written and has this very distinctive surreal alien art style to it, but I had to look real close at a lot of the art to make sure it wasn't AI - and I don't wanna have to keep fucking do this man
