It is WILD that this show is over. I've been listening since the beginning.

This show led to @alexjaffe.bsky.social being a guest on @cantletitgo.gay. It led to me reading Gotham Central and becoming a Renée Montoya-head.

It served as inspiration for @insequence.pictures

Congrats Alex and Gita 💖
Are you ready for the end? Gita and Alex finish issue 52 of 52, and speculate on the still-unknown secret of "52" as well as Booster getting Ted Tedgnant.

Actually somewhat-massive news, COCONA, one of the members of the all-Japanese based-in-Korea group XG, has come out as non-binary transmasc and having had top surgery

Which for an active idol in either country is just unheard of, never mind one at such a big group. They look amazing!
XG’s Cocona Comes Out as Transmasculine, Nonbinary
The 20-year-old rapper announced the news in an Instagram post: “I was born and perceived as female, but that label never represented who I truly am. I live in a way that feels more masculine and true...

I'm happy to hear the news about Cocona coming out as a transmasc nonbinary person and that Cocona is in a supportive environment.

This is a GREAT news for young nonbinary people and a tremendous step forward for nonbinary recognition in Japan.

A thing I get at in this Netflix house piece: the only real successes the streamer has are a result of stolen franchise valor (K-pop demon hunters developed at Sony, Wednesday already a familiar brand, etc)

Horses, the Most Controversial Game of the Year, Doesn’t Live Up to the Hype

Ursula K Le Guin published a series of essays critiquing 80s pop sci-fi that still stands today, for sci-fi as well as now games: fans of the medium are hostile to criticism and sophistication, because their slop is comfortable. They don’t want depth and complexity, only familiarity

but by any metric avengers: endgame is an awful fucking movie
I feel like this is akin to saying "when Avengers: Endgame is considered among a medium's best works, that's not a mature medium". The people who make that argument have a different set of interests than those seeking a more "artistic" experience.
