so the way this works is that the gba has 256K of memory that can load software. this is used by some games such as mario kart and super mario world to allow multiplayer even if only one player owns a copy by sending code to another gba via the link cable port: gbadev.net/gbadoc/memor...

ok there pins verified wires soldered time to break out the lighter. fun fact for @berix.bsky.social exclusively the right side of this cable came from the hd audio cable out of an old gateway pc.
