Not a lot of time for game dev today, but switched the player to use a capsule collider instead of a convex hull. I'm not sure why i was so concerned with getting something close to the "right" shape for the collider. Capsule definitely seems better.

Also added back some floating islands...

I broke my game and then spent 2 hours trying to figure out what went wrong.

I forgot to add a value to my map. :/

But in the good news, finishing a level can have multiple requirements *and* tunnels just work!

I'm too tired to mess with OBS, so screenshots.

Today I modeled a bookcase, updated how level success is determined, and added floating platform. I think the game has TOO MUCH repetitive jumping so trying to reduce that.

Maybe I’ll work on booby traps and holes tomorrow…

This is so true though. I got Omno *and* Europa because they both were described as "puzzle platformers heavy on exploration".

And I just got Tunic for similar vibes!

(I have only had time to play Omno, but it's sooooo exactly what I wanted it to be.)

Now the camera moves closer to the player to avoid clipping through walls! It doesn't avoid the boxes, because it was causing extreme weirdness when it didn't.

OMG, I got the 3rd person camera to avoid clipping through walls!

Not perfect yet, but it feels nice that it works like 80% of the way.

Also good #gamedev advice in general: If you're inspired by some games or a similar game already exist - Don't just take inspiration from the good parts, but the deficiencies and flaws as well! There you'll find opportunity to stand out.

In-game voxel level editor for my turn-based parkour puzzle/strategy game in #bevy.

Uses a relatively rough wave function collapse implementation to tag voxels without me having to check every box myself, followed by a meshing stage that applies (3d) dual-grid tilemapping.

I added a river. It doesn't do anything yet, but it's there. It might not actually ever do anything, but I like the idea of a Wizard's pocket dimension that's full of dusty bookshelves, cabinets with trinkets, and sitting chairs that has grass and a nice quiet river running through it.

Mostly for posterity, but trying to document game dev process.

So, my little raccoon can walk through "triggers" to cause stuff to move, and he can jump around and go up stairs. So, there's kind of 2 levels of complexity:
* Find the triggers to move things
* Run around on those things

But...
