Imagine if people got as pissed about people disappearing as they did about Hank Green not knowing how knitting works.

Going to start telling people I decided to transition to join the trans radical antifa cause: getting really obsessed with Bioncle.

Californians: the best thing you can do is call his office, at 916-445-2841. Ask to speak to a rep. Ask them why Newsom is more concerned about appeasing an ultra-minority of Neo-Nazis who want to diddle kids, rather than the rest of the population that just wants all kids to play in sports.

Down with the corporate mouse!

I don't have the brightest mind for business, but I'd argue that announcing a price hike less than 24 hours after undoing a politically motivated decision that is actively causing an international boycott is what we like to call a "very bad business move."
A screenshot of Disney's stock price.

112.25 USD
-5.46 (-4.64%) past month

(There's a lot of data in this screenshot, but the most important one is the big red graph that's pointing down.)

Any one of us have been dragging the administration and those in power through the mud with memes and actual jokes.

Just because you speak up about evil doesn't mean we just wave the fact you're a corporate Dem who is holding onto bigoted policies. We are not going back to the way things were.

Oh? The guy using AI to "own" the administration rather than actually do some fucking work who also used tearing down a homeless camp as a PR stunt AND has been very vocal about being anti-trans?

Color me surprised.

Life Update: "Fuck you. Make me."
I start HRT today.

I don't post this to be given some sort of pity or worry, or to even be thought a hero for pursuing something when the world wants people like me dead. In fact, I'm terrified of what the future holds as more unhinged and ignorant minds flood the spotlight. But fear does not mean a lack of courage, and it is not an obstacle when it comes to delivering truth.

I post it so that I can look back at this years from now to know that regardless of what happens, I did the right thing.

No government, body of power, King or corrupt tyrant gets to dictate what gender or identity I choose. There is nothing more punk or bad ass than to have an administration say, "DO THIS OR DIE!" and to stand up and say, "Fuck you. Make me."

One thing I've had all these years is resilience. I would rather die being loud, proud, and who I genuinely am than be silent, to capitulate, or deny myself and others their basic human right to exist.

Every American deserves the equal opportunity and journey to find life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

That's something worth dying for.

Sorry not sorry for anyone who says that pornography is evil.

Do I really need to bust out the John Waters' quotes every day? I'll fucking do it.

I don't like to resort to name calling, but anyone who tells you to "stop making it political!" when you bring up real world parallels to a story, or even talking about how human rights are important because they are highlighted in the theme of a manga, is and I quote, "a big ol' ding dong."
ga1c.bsky.social
OP has always been and always be commentary on injustices and corruption. The heart of the story is a found family fighting to ensure they and others can live free lives.

Human rights aren't inherently political as everyone SHOULD be allowed the right to exist. That's not politics. That's decency.

Not me waxing about my dude after reading NPR's article about Southeast Asian resistance groups using the Straw Hat Pirate's flag as a banner to organize under.
"I don't care if you're a King or not! There's more important things than power!"

"If you don't take risks, you can't create a future!"

"I'll make a world where my friends can eat as much food as they want!"

"If you hurt somebody… Or if somebody hurts you, the blood that flows Is still red."

"I don't want to conquer anything. I just think the person with the most freedom on the oceans is the King of the Pirates."

"I like heroes, but I never want to be one."

Luffy constantly tears down corruption, evil, abuse, and tyranny. It is never from the stance of wanting to control or usurp something for himself. It is always because someone is suffering who has been stepped upon and abused, or seen as less than human. He's destroyed slave trades, toppled unjust Kings, and even fights against a corrupt government that wants to control what people see, hear, and read.

He and the Straw Hats are a threat to a regime that wants to hide information and keep people from asking questions. He and others tirelessly fight to not let old men dictate how they live their lives, where individuals who are trans or seen as being undesirable are able to find "family" and joy.

He's a fictional character among many others, but this is the sort of example more of us could learn from.

I've been reading/watching One Piece since 2000, and I'm still learning more about the world and what it means to be "free" even after all these years.

"No one gets to laugh at someone's dream!"

Crossing all the fingers and sending all the good vibes to see more of your work get the proper admiration and love it deserves. *clap clap clap*

Exactly. I've seen it unfortunately happen with a lot of geek bars and game stores.

The second someone doesn't call out gross behavior, then they come out of the woodwork and dig their roots in hard.
