I like this idea. If maga politicians (who were elected to serve their constituents instead of serving big money donors and lobbies) fail to have Town Halls, then the constituents should conduct their own with an empty chair on the stage. First, invite them, and then hold the Town Hall. #townhall

@rickclark.bsky.social Rick, I finally sat down to watch Dark Winds, season 3 episode 1 and got chills immediately. Space Oddity sets the stage for what must be, the most anticipated season ever. I'm so excited to hear what you have done once again, on this amazing series.

I believe the president is intentionally provoking as many entities and people as possible, hoping to incite violence which he will use as an excuse to override the 22nd Amendment.

Does anyone else think how hypocritical the senators at Tulsi Gabbard's confirmation "worry" because she won't call Snowden a traitor for leaking illegal surveillance on US citizens, while Musk has his 19 to 24 yr old tech guys going through the Treasury payments systems?

It's not about national security. He wants to own everything so he can act like a king, controlling access so others have to ask for permission. I bet he never shared any toys as a bratty kid.

His fascination with Greenland stems from his previous whining that "people were not immigrating to the United States from “nice” countries “like Denmark”" So now he wants own them.

Maybe I've seen too much Battlestar Galactica, but I believe you're responsible for your creations. Some states give a bundle of tissues inside a woman's uterus personhood, until it breathes. Then it's ignored. I'm thinking they are going to feel the same way about artificial intelligence

Both Congress and the courts can potentially block executive orders. Now we'll see who has the courage to step up and stand up to thissmall minded, petty, vengeful, tyrannical, narcissistic bullying excuse for a human man.
LIVE UPDATES: President Trump signed an executive order issuing tariffs on goods coming into the U.S. from Canada, Mexico and China.

• Canada and Mexico threatened retaliatory tariffs

• China said it will file a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization
Trump is waging war against his own government

Why Banks May Be Hoping You’re Not Paying Attention
They have no fiduciary duty in many cases and can profit from customers’ confusion. But where’s the line between unsavory and illegal?

We're truly in the magical thinking age of children again. We can say anything, regardless of how racist, ridiculous or impossible it is. Staying it over and over until some people are convinced. Because they want to believe it. Because truth is more scary to them.

Yep. That's the whole point.

They're not even trying to hide it anymore, folks.

Every single member of the GOP can be bought, and bought cheaply (as can quite a few dems, unfortunately).

Think it will ever change?

Not as long as the same folks accepting bribes are the ones allowing it to happen.

Trump, despite being unique in many ways, acted like a typical owner of a #familybusiness during the 2024 campaign. Which, of course, he is.

Researchers in family businesses find the campaign offers a useful lens through which to understand current events.
We study aging family business incumbents who refuse to let go − here’s why the 2024 race felt familiar
Donald Trump is acting like the classic patriarch of a family business − and he’s not the only politician to do so.

Concerns about potential cuts or changes to data — which world leaders, regulators, economists and executives have long relied upon — come at a time when statisticians in and outside of the government have clamored for funding to better modernize how critical data is collected, tabulated and shared.
Trump routinely calls economic data ‘fake.’ Here’s why that’s dangerous | CNN Business
