I’m VERY slowly settling in here. Maybe I’ll hang up my hat and stay for a bit OR maybe I won’t, but for now please know that I’m going to be all over the place topically. Buckle up! (Clifford Brown in the pfp)
Thank you for doing that! You did a great job.

You didn’t teach me the French and Haitian revolutions to just justify all this.

I haven’t been up on the news, I see. Fishback is a deeply problematic person.

Refreshing to see James Fishback getting called out by @bennpeifert.bsky.social over on Fintwit. The grift is strong with Fishback. He needs to fail (again) in spectacular fashion.

Fishback claims he is “trying to save America.” GTFOH

This thread by @timnitgebru.bsky.social deserves a lot more attention. Really we need to be looking through all the TESCREAL, Edge Foundation connections.

John Brockman was the literary agent for Steven Pinker, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, and Jared Diamond, he was a key Epstein nexus.

Some of their greatest hits are those like Nick "Blacks are more stupid than white's" Bostrom taking the stage to tell us about so-called "superintelligence", and other eugenicists we discussed in this paper: firstmonday.org/ojs/index.ph....

Thank you. Another one who is long overdue for his comeuppance.

it's also the first major instance of some of the dynamics that have happened in other fields now reaching finance/money: highly credentialed have 1) a tendency to preserve decorum and 2) cannot process the extent someone is a partisan hack, whereas process-based people are freeer to call charlatan

Economic thinking is probably the area where the democratization effect of fintwit had the best effect, where good faith people without access to the halls of power could put forth their ideas, analysis, and forecasts. And the split on Warsh seems in large part driven by this dynamic.

Completely agree.

Yep.

“Mr Trump's company, VH Property, bought the 300-acre parcel of land, half an hour south of Los Angeles, in 2002 – three years after a landslide had destroyed a previous golf course on the site and sent the 18th hole into the sea.”

Unfortunately, this claim is problematic: Trump purchased that property in 2002.
