My grandpa was in the army air force during WWII fighting Nazis. That’s always been something I’m proud of, but it was abstract. A while ago, I flipped through a scrapbook of his time as a soldier; I saw a newspaper clipping of this photo, explaining that 10 men died when this B-17 was shot down.

I went to the Great New York State Fair yesterday, ate some crazy food (hillbilly burger, description in alt text), saw some llama-based sports (llama leaping & llama limbo), & chatted with some friends for a bit.
I also saw this terrifying monstrosity, known as a glyptodont. I’m glad it’s extinct.
