released on NSW either (that have been delisted since as part of the Johnny Turbo's Arcade collections)

Seems Data East's IP is a mess & many companies hold pieces of it these days...sigh

the NSW physical collections (which theyre drip feeding things)

I see Edward Randy is on the latest (a Data East game) yet to my knowledge that game has never had a console release for whatever reason still has NOT been one of them for the arcade archives

It wasnt part of any Data East collections

A lot of the 8-bit computer games EA did (when they were actually Electronic Artists) are very well crafted, that's why they were one of the best companies around until the management sold out, got greedy & put profit first.

but did NOT back the KS) so if I hear back, I'll post the update if anyone is interested.

1st Press is freakin' weird, they produced a small amount of Chained Echoes PS4 copies (I have one) but then never finished up production or sent them to KS backers, so how scummy is that?😐🤨🤦‍♂️

didn't got a physical release only in JPN)

And the chances of a western physical is slim since Yggdra Union came out in 2024 w/ Gloria/Blaze Union and no one localized or released that in the west (but it received a weird dual pack release w/Chinese language support)

Also I saw the Barouque-Ya collection, that has

Barouque (dungeon crawler from the SS/Wii era)
Shmup
Frogger type game
Visual novel

But Sting (yet again) decided they didn't need to do a translated or physical edition in the west (similar to many of the Dept. Heaven games that were Eshop only or

fans, since the X360 version has been the ONLY way to play it at home for over 10 years)

The only thing they had up was the Castle of Shikigami Trilogy, which bugs me that that the CoS 3 standard release isn't multi-language & is being locked behind an expensive LE, which is nuts😔

their book collections, which is why I was shocked to see an Xbox & X360 book collection come out (considering those systems were flops in JPN)

But for me they're excellent resources for reference (I'm curious to know if they'll include the WW release sets since JPN exclusives only were very few)

I'm not competing against the the video game library, they do their own thing, I mainly collect game guides I want for games I own, plus history books & system encyclopedias / historical books on systems since I want a hard copy of games released

The JPN companies are so FAR ahead of the west with

but if everyone holds SRG as the 'gold' standard, they tarnished their reputation with those releases & continue to do so, since it seems like they aren't fixing something if the issue continues to persist (started with Hell Pie & as recently as Laika Aged through Blood last Sept)

I won't convince those who think boutiques are evil or everything should be available a few weeks after ordering it

Even Super Rare has had multiple issues in the last few years, buggy games released not QA'ed enough & have done some less than honorable things to 'fix' their mistakes, LRG too
January 17, 2026 at 1:44 PM
with cutting them some slack

One other aside, is people who buy expensive collector's editions then expect them to show up 3 months later🤨😐

Seriously, made to order products don't work that way, big companies do their CE's 1+ years in advance, something boutiques don't have the luxury to do
January 17, 2026 at 1:42 PM
understand holding a boutique label to a different standard since they claim 'preservation' still can't have different standards when you pay $70+ for a broken mess AAA title vs a delayed $40+ game from a boutique label

As long as they deliver in a reasonable time frame, (less than a year) I'm good
January 17, 2026 at 1:40 PM
later after 'pre-selling' them

And the reasons for that is financial (SLG/ININ), too damn picky about outer covers (1st Press), or just thieves (Dispatch)

There's no way you're going to make everyone happy here, even retail games don't release feature complete, yet people still buy them, but I

all of a sudden it's they're ripping me off, they stole my money, they're scammers

When I hear those things, I know they haven't dealt with the boutique companies who actually are thieves and scammers like 1st Press, Dispatch Games, Strictly Limited/ININ, that still haven't released games 3-4 yrs

2)complete (but the point being here, do not announce anything until it is ready) which is what RiG is looking to do going forward

This is a good approach as long as information on a release doesn't get out or they announce it too early

If people have to wait more than 6 mos for something nowadays
January 17, 2026 at 1:34 PM
do to fix this

1)release early & incomplete (as LRG has been doing quite a lot in recent years & other boutique labels as well) with another more complete release (maybe) coming out later from other label or at retail (E.g. outer wilds archaeologist edition)

2)hold off on a release until content
January 17, 2026 at 1:33 PM
significantly delays the physical for months / years (see Katana Zero & Nuclear Throne) LRG did this for many titles early on which made many customers mad because it was the start of the long delays after they ordered

So they were stuck in a Catch-22 (as is RiG now too) there's only two things to
