"[...] Wilhelm began to appoint arch-conservatives and sycophants into many political offices [...] at federal level. These were supposed to implement his will but often proved, inturn, to follow their own agendas and manipulate the Kaiser."

"[W]e are all prone to the error of equating visual order with working order and visual complexity with disorder."

While having not caught up - (started this from a day that is significant to my adult life circa 2018) and being in the past (2022), I highly recommend @blindboyboatclub.bsky.social 's Christmas episodes specifically, as this can be an emotionally turbulent time for anyone, positive or negative.

ME: if a vampire went into space, would a nearby sun damage him? Does that count as sunlight? Is it a proximity thing? Because suns are stars but they're not harmed by starlight. Is it only our sun? Like is there Superman logic going on?

THERAPIST: I thought you wanted to do cbt

ME: no just this

We are so connected. We are so the same. Across borders, across time, across cultures. We are all more alike than we are different. I refuse any concept of academic or scientific justification to think of a 13th century farmer burying his beloved dog or monks who had hangovers as unknowable to me.

My dog and two cats love to throw up on the floor and they represent 60% of the household. As a leader I can't just ignore public opinion so I also throw up on the floor sometimes to stay popular

loads of problems would be solved if people realized nothing on this earth actually belongs to anybody.

Though I've never liked Christmas, I really don't mind the period between the 27th and New Year. These nothing days, the passage of inconsequential hours. Nothing has to happen here, and so it does.
