Non-standard social OS. Chronic bird botherer. Overwhelmed in supermarkets, fine in forests. I go outside, stare at things and try to make sense of a world that has destroyed its wild soul. Nature, mental health and the ridiculous ways we collide with both

For a fair bit of the last 3 yrs I haven’t really wanted to stay on the planet.Very slowly tho I’m rewiring my brain-starting to see value in myself despite my neurodivergence & things I struggle with. My winter-flowering cherry tree’s opening its flowers today.I’m actually happy I’m here to see it🌿

The girls are back. Two red fox vixens, swaggering through the garden at midnight like they’re checking their turf and mildly disappointed in mine. Absolute icons.

Picked up a tiny, feathered chaos bean after it hit the window. Heart racing, then settling. After 20 minutes, it gripped my fingers, looked at me, and blasted off into the hazel.
Wild moments that reset your head.

Extensive effort by multiple law enforcement / science / conservation partners to determine this as a wildlife crime. But of course, yet again the offender hasn't been identified, charged, prosecuted etc. Something needs to change.

My brain’s not well at all today-depression, but I made this photo to try to lift my dark thoughts & have hidden a tiny owl in it. If you find it &/or your brain likes this image maybe let me know below? Connecting with other humans is another way to lift very low mood 🌿

It would help so much if you could repost my 2026 calendars/etsy shop in my post above. Small handmade businesses are better than the big Black Friday malarkey. Thankyou so much 🌿

Yet more science showing that regenerative grazing is overblown as a climate solution.

A better path? Cut back on beef production altogether, and return grazing lands to nature.
