And just for the sake of it and for closure, a Gemini only prompt:

"Make a follow up comic where the dragon gets turned into a banana after sneezing"

It's cool what the models can do. I think I lean towards Gemini still.

As for what is the actual use case? *shrug* - In this particular case, I was just trying to figure out what the models can do, and generally wasting time. 🤷‍♂️

But I can see the possibilities.

Ok, last lastly...

Some more toy products!

Polly-Pocket style toy sets, and a traditional action figure set (with a new imagined warrior figure).

Interesting choices...

And lastly, some products, a finger puppet and a high quality vinyl toy. Each using their own color versions as the starting reference. Purple for Gemini, Orange for ChatGPT

Next prompt to both:

"Make a three panel comic with this character making a joke about being colored by genAI."

First image is Gemini, second Image is ChatGPT.

No comment about the humor in the comics... 😅

I guess ChatGPT identified the little scale things as hair, which may have triggered it to interpret the rest of the design as hairy.

I do like how it decided to darken the little "tufts of hair"

When I do draw things like that as little tufts of hair that's what I actually do. :P

Below are the ChatGPT generated images using the same prompts. Only difference is that I didn't request a color palette change.

ChatGPT took more liberties with the design of the dragon making it hairy, changing the eyes, and as with Gemini, the horns as well.

I'm sure you can spot the differences where the model decided to do its own thing, like make the horns thicker, and at some point added scales to the outline of the neck.

But overall, kept things pretty close to the original sketch.

The images below are made by Gemini, the first request was water color, I provided the color palette in words. Then changed it to purple. Then requested a color pencil version, and a more finished concept art look in oils.

Dumb typo, oh well.

I’m glad there’s still a marker for these things to the point that Bandai is actively stocking all the way to the original Tamagotchi version to the latest (with some exceptions, RIP Tamagotchi Music Star).

These things are still so fun to me.
