Fantastic!

I’ll finally get my dream of an ore mineral winning!

Hark! What’s that we see on the horizon?

Is it something new? Something mostly metallic, quite heavy, and essential to society? It’s an all-new collaboration with IMA!

Ore Cup: www.mineralcup.org/about-ore-cup

Voting starts Monday November 3. Winner crowned IMA Ore Mineral of the Year

I can imagine the unconformity to the Anthropocene deposit occasionally confusing a student. 😌

I am genuinely baffled and distressed as to why the UK government is intent on destroying UK's genuinely world-leading universities, who bring £265 billion into the economy and support more than 250,000 jobs.

This tax will kill us.

Highly doubt that Russian secret service Oleg Voloshyn offered bribes to Gill, yet he declined to offer the same to a grifting former Russia Today presenter Farage.

P.S. Here's Farage with Oleg Voloshyn's wife.

Nathan Gill is no fringe politician.

He was the leader of the Reform Party and before that UKIP in Wales.

A Brexit Party MEP.

A friend and ally of Nigel Farage, who in 2016 called him:

"terrific," and "as honest as the day is long."

This is a MASSIVE story

I’ll put money on perovskite never being a viable ore mineral for titanium!
gawenjenkin.bsky.social
A patent does not necessarily mean that there is a viable commercial industrial process - and I’m speaking as a patent holder in metal processing (we are optimistic it will become commercial but that is costing many £millions to scale up the process).
gawenjenkin.bsky.social
Thanks for these - very interesting papers. But actually underlines my point the perovskite is not a feasible Ti ore. The papers are about perovskite artificially formed in secondary waste products (slags) - so not a natural mineral and therefore not an ore.

Boy, is this ever Heartbreak City. I mean, #Haüyne is a blue beauty, but #Hematite has been my favorite since I was a kid here on Earth, while it was also turning Mars red. How can I say no to that? See ya in #MinCup26 haüyne, as I’m pushing hard for hematite in #MinCup25! (Alt text for more.)
Hematite doing its gooey, reflective, Joe Cool flex thing. Hematite in banded formations. Hematite “blueberries” on Mars. Also, the view you’d see if you face-planted on the Red Planet. Hematite “blueberries” on Mars. Rover tracks for scale.

Why I usually flounce off in a huff - ore minerals never get anywhere and people just go on colours.

Interesting article on public misconceptions about HE, including the value to the economy.

And yet our govt seem happy to sit back and let it all go to shit. 🤷🏻‍♂️ www.theguardian.com/education/20...
