A detail of my first knit for a while. I like the ‘enclosed cable’ at the right-hand side which alternates between two styles. Looks a bit messy as there’s a change in needle size a few inches up to cinch at the waist - it will all fall into place as I go.

My granny could still knit a sock heel and toe at the drop of a hat, into her 80s. When she died she left a bag of scraps of sock and baby wool, and about 10 years ago I made some of it into a heritage scarf. #knit #scarf #stockingstitch
