These offices are too tastefully appointed ( not enough gold) and the suits are too well fitted and no dress sneakers. Certainly not the 2020s. #hatm

The duct tape thing is actually unsurprising, since both the aviation and space communities have special (and expensive) duct tape they use all the time.

I’m always disappointed how the actual Mission Control is not nearly as futuristic as the movies. The one is not that nice. It does have the big screens in front. #hatm

With the bad job # this week + talk of stagflation, I looked at Fed Fund rates back in the 1900s. The rate was at 4.13% in 1967 and didn’t get below that until 1992, with 2 big spikes ( once 18% in early 1980s). Doesn’t bode well going forward.

Just learned that in 1944, the @uaw.org fought book banning in Detroit, when the city banned the novel Strange Fruit for portraying an interracial romance. The UAW and the Detroit Public Library teamed up to overturn the ban.
