Naturally, it’s the Texas Guard. It was their twisted leader and Trump courtier, Greg Abbott, who sent immigrant families to Chicago in winter, in the dead of night, with no winter clothing or notice to our officials. His (and Trump’s troops) are not welcome here.

Summaries at the beginning of reported work often misses main points and discounts the value of the journalism it represents in predigested form. Fortunately, I was able to get AI summaries eliminated on my Bloomberg terminal. Cant say re WaPo, NYT and WSJ because I cancelled those subscriptions.

The king and aristocracy want catch and kill on an national scale. And they’re achieving it. They loathe accountability and love a population focused on their privately owned sports/tech/entertainment/gaming/financial engineering toys. Too bad if these toys erode the notion of a stable middle class

“On patrol” is inaccurate. This paramilitary group is tasked with snatching people off the street (reportedly with arrest quotas), not keeping the peace. Perhaps just write “out marauding” or “raiding a community” and drop this “patrol” nonsense.

Yes, but we err with such a narrow framing. Yes, American billionaires (1,000 of them - up from 66 in 1990) grab headlines, but they are only the tip of a population of 10,000 centimillionaires and nearly 1,000,000 decamillionaires.

Reading the transcript makes it worse. This was a “he’s completely lost it” moment (hour) before they somehow reeled him back to the prepared text at the very last minute. Attention span of a gerbil. Easily distracted and manipulated by his court of Grima Wormtongues.

Today's the last day for 150K+ feds who took the "Fork" (deferred resignation program), including 800+ at the Social Security Administration.

The experience at SSA demonstrates 3 things about the DRP:

1. It's the tip of the iceberg
2. It wasn't really voluntary
3. It hurts service to the public

With a government shutdown looming, I'm getting lots of questions about what happens to Social Security. Key points:

1. By law, Social Security & SSI benefits will keep coming.

2. SSA workers needed to continue benefit payments will keep working (but won't get paid until the gov reopens).

Passionate and unruly is a pretty benign description. I stopped watching the first day. The appalling (and collective) behavior of this gallery and tepid PGA crowd control planning and security response makes me wonder if *conflict* is the future organizers want to juice ratings and revenues.
