Australia spends $55B a year on defence, but won’t spend to house its own people. If young Australians can’t afford rent or a future here, why would they fight for it? National security starts with economic security

America is cooked & it will be permanent.
It seems relations have completely broken down between Trumps America & Ukraine.

Trump & a bunch of his MAGA bro boys held a conference in the Oval Office where they teamed up & bullied Zelensky for the cameras. Putin will be proud.

Australia & our real allies need to step up in place.

Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

Such a good piece. I cannot really come to terms with how rare it is in journalism that Musk's action are being recognised for what they are. Few things have scared me more than seeing widespread active efforts to rationalise and deny Musk's expression of Nazi bigotry, in mainstream media
I wrote this about the media's first big test of Trump 2.0, and how poorly it scored. On the tedious, vital work of seeing what's in front of our faces for the next four years.

This makes my blood boil. There is very, very little that makes me as mad as the supine weakness of politicians in this country when it comes to 'gas shortage'. This is state capture. Pure and simple. Another gift left by John 'children overboard' Howard #auspol

After years of warnings, importing gas looks to be the only way left to head off an energy shortfall in Victoria, a move likened to “importing sand to the Sahara”.

Modern Monetary Theory (#MMT) explains money is created by govt, not tax "revenue" or "borrowing." Govts do not round up gold before they can spend.

Inflation is controlled by managing economies, not superstitiously spending too little or raising rates to harm the economy and "cut demand."

The ABC is failing the nation. I have watched and listened to the ABC nearly all of my 49 years.

I have never known a time with such selective truth seeking, normalisation of evil and ineptitude and supporting an opposition leader.

The Board is a national disgrace.
