Trees like Eucs need community, close friends, so their roots grow together and form support for one another. A lone tree is a sad thing to see. We see the same thing in Australia, where trees are left isolated and become a danger in wet and windy weather.

He stole 3 bikes from us in Glen Iris (Melbourne) on Sunday 7th December.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Australia has a big “big car” problem. We have too many SUVs and utes, and we keep getting lots more of them.

Western Australia's SWIS grid over the last week.

Including yesterday when the light rooftop solar and dark yellow utility plus wind pushed coal right out of the demand requirement at times.

Bring on the batteries.

Yesterday a schoolboy was killed after being hit by a truck in Bendigo.

Notice anything about the truck?

I investigated the effect of 'bull bars' on pedestrian safety as part of my mechanical engineering (vehicle design) degree, in 1976.

In Australia, industrial electricity users can select their retailer, but of course there is only one network servicing each property.

The only way to avoid these monopoly charges is to generate electricity on the premises ('behind-the-meter') with solar or renewable heat-to-power.

The airlines will stop cancelling and delaying flights only when we enforce penalties for them doing that for commercial reasons.

The govt needs to hold the airlines to account with a compensation scheme for avoidable delays and cancellations. It’s worked overseas, it would work here.

The competitive component of industrial electricity bills in Australia, i.e. the retail component, usually accounts for less than half of the total cost.

The non-competitive components, mainly the monopoly network charges, account for most of the bill.
