About bloody time. Thread.
Adani have formally dropped their 5 1/2 year SLAPP court action against Ben Pennings.

To end the case, Ben proposed a very minor restriction to his political freedom.
20,000+ Australians donated $1.2m for Ben’s legal fund.

This magnificent wedge-tailed eagle was photographed on take-off during recent fieldwork. Australia’s largest bird of prey, the wedgie can grow to a wingspan of up to 2.8m, although the ones found on the Nullarbor tend to be smaller.

But Labor still refuses to take meaningful climate action.

They refuse to take into account climate damage when approving a coal or gas project.

This is the best we could get from a party captured by its fossil fuel donors.

But we’ll keep fighting.

Recharge rate of aquifers was, without CSG, already declining, and less than discharge rate.
This critical imbalance will likely become irreversible under unfettered CSG extraction

Nature doesn't have an offset account
Australia’s climate and biodiversity laws rely heavily on offset markets that treat ecosystems as interchangeable. But nature is not fungible, and the growing evidence of unique, localised species shows why offset systems are structurally incapable of protecting what is irreplaceable.
