Someone tag the Labour party: ““This was a cynical strategic manoeuvre to avoid losing voters to the far right, but it seems, based on polling, that all they have done is prime their own voters to join the far right rather than stay with the Social Democrats.””

"The key to ending overt racism against Asians in Britain is that we must Stop the Boats" = a very bad argument indeed, on so many levels

So Trump says he'll finally release the Epstein files. It took his team this long to remove every single incriminating reference I guess 🤔

I know it’s hard. But you can’t possibly go to an academic conference that imposes restrictions on freedom of speech like this.
Abstracts submitted to LPSC 2026 are required to comply with White House (non-legally binding) executive orders forbidding mention of topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

At least USRA/LPI isn't hiding it.

But is this what our community wants? Or deserves? I don't think so.

Great thread thanks. Am I being too simplistic at saying we sometimes confuse what voters find most noticeable versus what they care about?

It’s also got way more in common with the Epstein scandal than you really want to know.

The only way this 20 year thing works is if it actually deters. If it doesn’t, it just stores up more and more problems, more and more costs - lawyers, bureaucrats etc - in an ever-accumulating mass.

And there’s no real reason to believe it will deter. Deterrence generally is overrated.

The Daily Mail has been relentlessly attacking the BBC over the editing of Trump quotes in a documentary and look:

It completely fabricated a quote from a BBC presenter. Robinson should sue them for, ooh, at least $2 billion dollars as it’s worse than what they accused the BBC of.

💸 This government could boost its abysmal polling with policies which slash bills and cut emissions.

The fact that OpenAI even tried to frame their defence in this absurd manner betrays how morally bankrupt they are. But perhaps also how desperate.
We didn't plagiarize, you made us plagiarize by asking questions to which we stole the answers.

"Because its output is generated by users of the chatbot via their prompts, OpenAI said, they were the ones who should be held legally liable for it – an argument rejected by the court."

The subject REALLY needs bigger exposure and discussion.
Unsurprisingly the gutter press didn't latch on to the Hacked series on ITV in the same way they did the P.O. Horizon scandal, even though it revealed much deeper corruption.
No excuse that the BBC haven't gone to town on it in the same way.
