Discovery in the #deepsea: During their expedition aboard the research vessel SONNE, an international research team led by GEOMAR came across the “Karambusel” (mussel) field, where hydrothermal vents and methane seeps occur immediately adjacent to one another.

To protect the ocean, we need one thing above all: data. But collecting this data, especially in remote ocean regions, is anything but easy. Many areas are still a blank spot on the scientific map. So the aim is to enable non-scientists to make ocean observations. #TheOceanRaceEurope
