As we’re already in Hawaii since yesterday, let’s check out the Waikiki Tavern. Geared more towards haoles and servicemen, it was a discreet gay bar/restaurant and Tudor-style inn in an area that was filling in swampland for touristy places.

Chowchilla is in the California Central Valley, and in the 1950s it was basically Mayberry. This restaurant seems fancy for the area and it was surely the nicest eatery for miles and I’m sure folks went here for special occasions
